SUSANNE SCHEIPL

ORTHOPAEDICS

Welcome to my practice

From my many years of clinical experience, I am familiar with the great deal of uncertainty and fear that come with common, mostly degenerative disorders of the musculoskeletal system. This is particularly true for tumour diseases. Tumour patients have many questions, and I take the time to thoroughly explain their situation and provide answers to these questions. It is very important to me to offer my patients and their families a calm atmosphere where they can come to terms with their health challenges. Together with you, I will develop a bespoke treatment concept based on the latest clinical research.

How I can help you

Overview of services

The first step to treating painful, musculoskeletal disorders is a thorough and comprehensive examination. In any treatment, I always aim to maintain or restore pain-free mobility for as long as possible.
I have proven clinical expertise in the initial evaluation and follow-up of tumour diseases.

Diagnosis

The diagnosis begins with a discussion of your symptoms and your medical history. This is followed by a thorough clinical examination, supplemented by imaging procedures. I take the time needed to develop this important basis for treatment.

Non-surgical treatment

In many cases, non surgical (i.e. conservative) treatments are the most appropriate choice to maintain or restore pain-free mobility for as long as possible; these include insoles, custom-made orthopaedic shoes, orthotics, or physical and occupational therapies.

Tumour diseases: diagnostic confirmation & follow-up care

Musculoskeletal tumours are treated by a multidisciplinary team. I am part of a specialised team at the University Hospital. As a private medical practitioner, I always provide the initial assessment and required follow-up care of such diseases.

Infiltration therapy

Infiltration therapy is a special procedure in the context of non-surgical treatments. It can significantly relieve acute pain in the joints or in soft tissues, such as muscles. Surgery may be postponed or even avoided through infiltration therapy.

Surgical therapy

Surgery is usually the last step after all non-operative therapy options have been exhausted. I offer the best possible support in preparing and organising the surgical intervention, and in post-operative care. I have a long-standing and trusting relationship with local surgical experts.

It is my goal to develop treatment concepts that best meet the individual needs of my patients.

Why consult a private medical practitioner?

Your benefits

As a private medical practitioner, I offer reliable scheduling, short waiting times, and in-depth, personal consultations.

As a private medical practitioner, I do not have a contract with the statutory health insurance funds; which means that you will be treated as a private patient. The treatment invoice can be paid in my surgery and you can then submit the invoice to your health insurance company. I am happy to submit the invoice to your health insurance carrier on your behalf.

For more information on the private system, see here: Wahlärztinnen und Wahlärzte (gesundheitskasse.at)

If you have supplemental health insurance with an outpatient plan, the balance is usually covered in full.

You will only have to pay the usual fees and any deductibles for referrals (e.g. for imaging, physiotherapy and occupational therapy) and prescriptions for medication and therapeutic appliances (e.g., for insoles, orthotics, orthopaedic shoe fitting, splints) that you receive in my office.

It is important to us that you receive an appointment as quickly as possible, and that you arrive on time. This way, we can guarantee optimal planning and time management.

Call us to make your appointment (+43 664 4042 447) or use the contact form. You will not need a transferral or your Austrian “e-card” to make an appointment.

Should you no longer need your appointment, please cancel by phone (!) (+43 664 4042 447) at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment, so that we can assign it to another patient on our waiting list. Please understand that we charge a late cancellation fee of EUR 110.

Our consulting hours are Wednesday 16:30 to 19:00.

As a rule, appointments can only be made by phone up to 24 hours in advance of the next consulting day.

However, we endeavour to treat patients with acute concerns as quickly as possible, and will offer appointments in urgent cases following a telephone consultation.

With this in mind, we would like to ask you again to let us know in good time (+43 664 4042 447) if you cannot keep your appointment, so that we can assign it to patients with acute problems at short notice.

The fee for the first consultation, including extensive diagnostics, is EUR 170; this also includes the costs of infiltration and puncture therapies. Hyaluronic acid preparations are subject to an extra fee.

Follow-up treatments (such as the discussion of results of imaging procedures, regular follow-up examinations in the course of tumour after-care) will be charged at EUR 110, with the costs of infiltration or puncture treatments not included.

Please pay the treatment invoice in my surgery (in cash or with bank card). You can then submit the invoice to your health insurance company. I am happy to submit the invoice to your health insurance carrier on your behalf.
